Spring naturally brings about those feelings of change. Wanting to refresh things, start new, clean up and clean out – it’s all pretty common! You might even be inspired to start new, on a better path to health for yourself, especially as you can get outdoors more! Through all the refreshing and changes, don’t forget to think about your pets. How can you help refresh things or change things up for your pet?
We are focusing on the small wins with our dog, Oliver. He’s a four-year-old Pomston and we want him to be his healthiest! This spring, as we think about helping Oliver put his best “paw” forward, it is all about those small wins. The small changes we can make to help him refresh his health and happiness this spring – which ultimately leads to a more healthy and satisfying life.
Below are 5 New Things For Your Dog This Spring:
The most important thing isn’t on the list – it’s what you should consider first and foremost. Spring is a good time to make sure your dog is up to date on vet visits and takes all recommended medications/supplements. For Oliver, I make sure he has the preventative medications such as flea, tick & heartworm).
New Collars and Tags
Check collars and tags to make sure they’re in good shape for all those walks! Check hardware on clasps to make sure they work properly and that material isn’t fraying both on collars and leash.
New Coat or Sweater
Despite it being spring, mornings and evenings can still be chilly. If your dog tends to get cold, get some new gear to make your dog feel most comfortable as they begin to spend more time outdoors.
I checked our dog’s bed and his once fluffy, soft surface had begun to wear out. It was thin and offered little support. Sleep is valuable to dogs, too, and our dog LOVES his sleep! I want him to be comfortable and happy, so a new bed is a great way to start the spring.
Dogs get bored, just like kids do! The same old tired toys are not very stimulating. Spring is also a great time to purchase some new toys! It helps stimulate your dog’s mind, make things more fun and changes up your dog’s routine.
Purina® Pro Plan® SAVOR® with probiotics is a small change with a big impact. The switch can help support your dog’s digestive and immune health – a great start to spring.

Pets Supplies Plus has everything we need as pet owners and it’s local and Oliver is always welcome to visit! I also love how they have vet services – and I find the staff to be so helpful. I didn’t bring Oliver on this particular day because we had a lot of errands to do, and we never leave him in the car.
