Thank you Idahoan® Steakhouse® Soups for sponsoring this post. Enjoy the flavorful, slow-cooked taste of restaurant-quality soup at home, in minutes.
Nothing beats a good soup on a cold day. Being winter, my kids love being outdoors – especially after the snow has fallen. When I was younger, I loved playing outside in the snow as well. Coming in was just as fun as being outdoors because some warm comfort always awaited you. Whether it was a hot beverage or a good warm meal. Now that I have kids of my own, I always make sure I have something for them to warm up with when they come inside.
We have only had a few snowfalls this winter here in the northeast, so when it does snow, they head outside eagerly. I’m prepared and love having a warm meal for them after a cold afternoon outside. Soup does a great job and really hits the spot – the heartier the better!
I recently discovered Idahoan®Steakhouse® Soups – which deliver comfort in a slow-cooked, taste of restaurant quality soup at home, in minutes! In fact, my husband remarked it reminded him of his favorite soup at a local upscale pub we enjoy! When something that good is so easy to make – it’s something you’ll want to keep on hand.
A favorite in our house is the Cheddar Broccoli variety, but you can also enjoy Loaded Potato, Creamy Potato and Cheddar Potato. These soups all bring together real Idaho® potatoes with seasonings and rich cheeses that results in a creamy, hearty taste in every spoonful. To prepare, you only have to add water! It doesn’t get any more simple and easy-to-make than that.
For this particular soup – we love pairing it with small sandwiches, especially these Mini Avocado & Bacon Sandwiches. These mini sandwiches are super easy to make.
To make these, all you need is a few simple ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
Sliced baguette – sliced think, small rounds
Avocado slices
Cooked bacon, cut
Alfalfa Bean Sprouts
Mayonnaise or Mayo Alternative (like Avocado Mayo, Natural Mayo)
DIRECTIONS
Toast each slice of baguette until slightly crunchy. Spread lightly with mayonnaise.
Top each with a slice of Avocado, bacon and bean sprouts.
Serve warm.
These mini sandwiches complement the Cheddar Broccoli Soup so well. The soup is the main dish, because of how hearty it is, with the sandwiches as the perfect side. The soup itself is the perfect texture and taste with every spoonful and could definitely be a meal all on it’s own! I plan on stocking up on these varieties to have on hand for lunches, dinners, and for entertaining as well!
I’ll definitely keep these soups on hand. Given how easy and fast they are to prepare – along with the quality and taste, it’s the perfect go-to for dinners, lunches or anytime you need a warm, hearty meal.
