Salted Dulce de Leche “Latte”

Make this delicious, creamy and sweet “latte” with a great cup of coffee and Dulce de Leche steamed milk – see below for the incredibly easy recipe!

I’m not a morning person, so there’s few things that I look forward to during the morning hours, aside from hitting the snooze button. Those things include the quiet morning house, pretty morning light and a great cup of coffee…a really great cup of coffee. For that, I turn to Folgers® K-Cup® Pods.

No matter how you take your coffee, Folgers K-Cups will give you the best cup of coffee to start with.

There are many ways I take my coffee but I often like to create my own “latte” with steamed and frothed milk. Using a great cup of coffee like Folgers is a great alternative to the work of brewing espresso. I opt for this MANY mornings. For this recipe, I used Dulce de Leche in 2% milk, with a little fleur de sel to create a creamy and sweet with a hint of salt taste.

Ingredients Needed:

1-2  tbsp Dulce De Leche

3/4 cup milk

Sprinkle of Fleur de Sel

1 Folgers K-Cup – any variety

You’ll also need a stovetop-safe vessel for your milk and a milk frother.

A couple of notes:

~ The Dulce de Leche can be homemade from Sweetened Condensed Milk. There are a variety of ways to make it if you research online. The stovetop method is the longest, but there are also oven methods and a crockpot method, which I have used and really liked. You can also buy a can of pre-made Dulce de Leche, but they can be harder to come by.

~ The milk choice is entirely up to you! You can use any % milk, but the more fat content, obviously the more creamy it will be.

~ Finally, a milk frother is a great little tool that will get your milk perfectly frothed – coffee house style. They are very inexpensive and run on batteries.

To Prepare:

Start by heating your milk on low heat until it bubbles slightly. Watch it closely because you’ll want it to be very hot but do not overheat the milk. Reduce the heat and add  1-2 Tbsp of Dulce de Leche. Keeping the heat consistent, stir and let the Dulce de Leche combine with the milk. The color of the milk will begin to take on a creamier color. Add the sprinkle of Fleur de Sel or Sea Salt.

Brew a K-Cup of your favorite Folgers Coffee

Finally, use your frother on the milk and pour into the coffee — spoon frothed milk onto top of coffee.

That’s how easy it is to make and enjoy! No stop at the coffee shop necessary.

Folgers® knows a thing or two about great coffee! They have been the Best Part of Wakin’ Up for more than 150 years – don’t tell me you didn’t just sing that jingle in your head! Founded in 1850 in SanFrancisco, Folgers® Coffee is an iconic American brand and the K-cups are a great way to get that same Mountain Grown taste in a more convenient way.

My favorites?  Folgers® Classic Roast® Coffee K-Cup® Pods (Medium Roast) and Folgers® 100% Colombian Coffee K-Cup® Pods (Medium Dark Roast – rich and full-bodied). I found Folgers K-Cups at Stop & Shop and stocked up!

Share with me – how do you like your coffee? Be sure to check out this coupon at Stop and Shop for $1.00 off Folgers Coffee.

Enjoy!
