How to Save on Prescriptions

Thank you to ScriptSave® WellRx for sponsoring this conversation about prescription savings and how it’s helping me save and plan for a healthier year.

With the New Year comes a renewed sense of health and wellness. There are new goals, self-care and healthier choices. It can be overwhelming to think about all of these things as a mom. Not only do I think about my own goals, but I’m also striving to make sure my kids are the healthiest they can be. I can keep them active, happy and eating well, but it shouldn’t be a burden to purchase prescriptions. One of our children needs regular prescriptions, so saving on prescriptions is important.

My kids health and wellness matters to me and I work hard to make sure they live a healthy lifestyle. Worrying about prescriptions shouldn’t be an issue.

Thanks to ScriptSave® WellRx, our prescriptions are a lot easier to manage. If you regularly fill prescriptions, like my family does – for vitamins, medical conditions, etc – then ScriptSave WellRx can benefit your family.

With an updated website and mobile app, there is some great functionality, such as “Medicine Chest Pricing” which allows me to enter the details of our multiple prescriptions at the same time, and check the price button to see the one single pharmacy that offers the lowest one-stop rice or a combination of pharmacies that has the lowest price. You can save this search in a Virtual Medicine Chest for easy pricing each month. You can even have access to pill and refill reminders.

For example, we fill 2 prescriptions for one of our children each month. We pay a large portion of these out-of-pocket. Using the features in the app, I can make sure that cost is the lowest possible cost for us. Sometimes I end up at a chain pharmacy like our local CVS or at a small town pharmacy – like this small town shop we frequent in Mendham, New Jersey.

As with any savings plan, one might be skeptical to begin. I often am when I enroll in a program like this. But ScriptSave WellRx is the real deal. I was surprised with just how fast, easy and free it was to get savings. For example, at a chain pharmacy near our home, we would spend $250.17 for the prescription, out-of-pocket. Using the features on the website and app, I found another pharmacy where I could get the exact same prescription medication for $166.07.  That’s REAL savings. Insurance coverage does not necessarily mean low-cost prescription meds. The ScriptSave WellRx program can work really well for insured people with high out-of-pocket costs, like us. There’s no cost to the patient for trying the card – a pharmacist can price the medication with insurance, then compare that against the ScriptSave WellRx price. The patient can pay whichever rate makes most sense. (Please note: the patient can only pick one discount – they can’t use the ScriptSave WellRx discount on top of the insured price) Learn more about this here —->http://bit.ly/2kCWr3R

This price is better than my out-of-pocket cost under insurance. Having this app helps me make the best choice when it comes time to fill a prescription – no matter where we go.

You won’t know unless you try with your prescriptions. How much could you save? The ScriptSave WellRx card/app is free to download, requires no credit card details to be entered and has no membership fee. You have nothing to lose by trying – you’d never pay more than you’re already paying. You can only stand to SAVE.

What I love is that price-shopping is made easy with ScriptSave WellRx. They can save the image or take a screenshot on their phone to show at the pharmacy when they go to fill a prescription.

We love hearing great savings stories like this one (and it’s always a huge compliment to know about all the moms & dads who continue to adopt ScriptSave WellRx for their household prescription needs).

For anyone wanting to price-check the special discounted rates that ScriptSave WellRx has negotiated at their local pharmacies, the link below is the best place to start (and there’s also a free registration & membership available at this special link)…

Hi, I’m thinking of downloading this app and I’m curious about the invite code. Is that something you need to join or do you get something extra off the first purchase…
    Thanks

I believe you get free registration and membership at that link, but I believe the program is free to use. It has been helpful to others to start here and register:

It was truly helpful with our out of pocket expenses for our son’s medication, so I hope it will be helpful for you as well!
