During this time of year everyone talks about drastically changing their diet, cutting out certain foods and what they’ll deny themselves I’ve never done well with a huge list of ‘don’ts’ so instead, it’s nice to shift your line of thinking to what you CAN have.
Juice with my breakfast – a definite favorite. And it’s a CAN DO with Tropicana Trop50!
Trop50 offers the great-tasting goodness of orange juice with 50% less sugar and calories — yes, 50%! You get a juice that is squeezed from fresh oranges and provides 100% of your vitamin C needs with no artificial sweetner. Each 8 oz. glass is also a great source of potassium. Most importantly, it tastes like nothing is missing. Since I’ve been enjoying this juice with breakfast, it got me thinking that it would be fantastic as the main ingredient in a good-for-you homemade frozen treat.
I decided that I wanted it creamy and simply pairing the Trop50 with Coconut Milk and some vanilla extract is all I needed. I love frozen treats, like ice cream and sherbert. Using the Trop50 as the main ingredient seemed like a fantastic way to ensure this would be a better-for-me option. And because of the great taste, I don’t have a need to add any additional sweeteners. Trop50 did all the work in making a great tasting juice.
Blend the Trop50 with the Coconut Milk, and add the vanilla extract. Blend well and pour into a container to freeze. Once frozen, allow to sit out for a few minutes before using a scoop to serve.
To be honest, it reminds me of a creamsicle. The coconut milk adds a better-for-you creamy texture to the sherbert quality texture! I served mine with some orange rinds on top, but you certainly don’t need to. Add some chopped nuts, dark chocolate or dried fruit as other yummy topping ideas.
What are some foods you say yes to? How can Tropicana Trop50 help you focus on what you CAN have this new year?
Quick Recipe : Creamy Orange Sherbert
1 Can Coconut Milk
3 cups Tropicana Trop50
1 tsp vanilla extract
Blend together the coconut milk and Trop50. Be sure to blend well to break down the coconut milk so the texture is creamy. Add vanila extract and pulse to blend. Pour mixture into a freezer-safe container. Freeze overnight and scoop to serve.
For extra creamy, more soft serve style, scoop the frozen mixture back into the blender and blend – then refreeze. The texture will be softer.
ENJOY!
