1 in 5 children experiences night terrors – and if your child is one of them, you’ll know it can be quite a difficult experience. Bedtime is a big focus in parenting – and we always strive to make sure our kids feel safe, nutured and hope they sleep peacefully through the night. A night terror can quickly make you feel helpless.
For us, my daughter started having them not long ago. We couldn’t figure out how to help her. Since she is a twin, her experience also impacted her sister who sleeps in the same room. As parents, we just wanted to ensure her a restful night of sleep.
And now, we can with Lully Sleep Guardian 2.
The Lully Sleep Guardian 2 is a vibrating pod placed under the mattress. It automatically vibrates before a night terror, preventing it completely. The Lully Sleep Guardian 2 is proven to work, and is based on the best medical knowledge of kids’ sleep. It’s safe and easy to use.
You start by downloading the app from the App Store and then plugin the pod in. We were very careful to have the cord extend from the pod to the back of the bed, where it would be out of our daughter’s reach. You then place the Lully Sleep Guardian 2 Pod under the mattress and pair the pod with your app.
After a few questions, you’ll be ready to get started.
You basically tell the app when it’s time for bed and then the Lully Sleep Guardian 2 takes over. The app will start a countdown to the vibration window. The vibrations run for a couple of minutes and then turn off when your child moves. You can give the app feedback about how it went so the program can make adjustments. Used consistently, as we see with our daughter, you’ll have the best results.
What Else Can You Do?
Aside from using Lully Sleep Guardian 2, we have adopted a very structured bedtime routine. Make it a ritual, make it consistent and make it the same time. While my daughter doesn’t remember her night terrors, she remembers that “something” happened and it can lead to uneasy feelings about bedtime. Continue to make bedtime routine a priority. For us, it’s : Bath, Music, Story, Bedtime. As a plus, more structure with bedtime will help to get your child the sleep he/she needs. Overtired isn’t a good combination with night terrors, so having a well rested child will be beneficial.
