I’m always so excited to pack lunch the first week of school. With new lunch boxes and “lunch accessories,” I usually hit the ground running with lunches! Then the second week hits, the after-school activities start and homework creeps in. And I find myself scrambling to put together a lunch box that I can feel good about for my kids.
Thanks to these quick lunch ideas and Horizon™ – I think I’m back in the game.
I recently stocked up on some lunch essentials at Walmart, including Horizon™ Aseptic 12-pack Milk Boxes (Chocolate) , Horizon™ Sandwich Crackers – Peanut Butter and Horizon™ Apple Fruit Clusters. These products inspired me to create some new lunch box ideas. They are the perfect pair with so many of the foods my kids love. I’m happy, the kids are happy and fueled for an afternoon of learning at school.
Turkey Cheese Roll Ups (Whole Grain Wrap) | Horizon Fruit Clusters | Carrots | Blueberries – Served with Horizon Chocolate or Vanilla Milk Box
Hummus Dip| Homemade Tortilla Chips | Carrots | Strawberries | Horizon Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers – served with Horizon Chocolate Milk Box
Turkey Pepperoni, Mozzerella & Tomato Skewers | Peppers | Horizon Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers | Bean Salad – served with Horizon Chocolate Milk Box
More About Why I Choose Horizon™
The Horizon Single Serve Milk Boxes include 8 grams of protein per milk box and are an excellent source of calcium. There’s no high fructose corn syrup and the chocolate flavor is flavored with organic cocoa. They’re shelf stable, so they’re super easy to stock up on! Did I mention my kids LOVE these?
The Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers include real, organic ingredients – organic peanut butter for a delicious taste – the perfect snack that no kid can resist. The Fruit Clusters were new to our lunch boxes this time around and I got a big thumbs up! Four simple ingredients make for a yummy, crunchy snack that’s perfect for little hands.
To make lunch a little more fun, I wanted to include some lunch box inspiration with these fun lunch box notes – made from leftover paint color sample cards.
Simply use a heart and start punch to create punch-outs on the paint cards. You’ll need to trim up the paint cards to cut off wording or paint colors. But after, you’re left with bright, vibrant cards perfect for writing notes or inspiration.
It’s an easy and fun way to send in a colorful note.
