We are on vacation this week in beautiful Cape Cod, MA – Chatham, to be specific. And while this is the summer home of the great white (as in shark), it’s much nicer for me to think about the more lovely attributes of this beautiful, seaside town. Our home for the the week is beautiful – leaving me inspired to share a quick way to make your own linen spray. Linen spray is one of those things you can get almost anywhere. These sprays tend to be expensive. For me, it’s not likely I’d buy some for myself.
For my linen spray, I decided to use Nature’s Truth Happiness Essential Oil. The blend has a strong aroma, that is bright, sweet, and fruity. The beautiful scent evokes joy right out of the bottle, the same feeling I get when I take in the beautiful flowers and scenery here on Cape Cod.
Nature’s Truth Essential Oils can be incorporated into many creative DIY projects around the home. For example: in the mini diffuser, air fresheners, soaps, candles or home remedies. Happiness is just one of many varieties to choose from – you can choose your oils based on what experience you are looking for! These top quality essential oils and base oils are derived from 100% pure plant sources. They are also paraben-free and gluten free.
In addition to the pure essential oils, you can also find diluted oils that are ready for the skin. I love my Energy Roll-On – the earthy, citrus scent is uplifting me on our busiest vacation days.
To make your own linen spray, you only need a few items – shown above.
Nature’s Truth Essential Oil – Happiness (Choose any of Nature Truth’s other varieties!) – You’ll start with 6 drops.
1 cup Distilled Water
2 Tbsp Witch Hazel
Funnel
Simply combine all the ingredients and funnel into a spray bottle. Shake well before each use and then spritz away. By preference, I use distilled water but you can use any water. You’ll also want to start with only 6 drops and then test spray. You can always add more, 2 drop at a time until you reach your desired strength.
I spritzed my linen spray on towels for the home and beach. There’s nothing more uplifting than a scented, fluffy towel after a shower or after stepping out of the cool sea onto the breezy beach. I also apply the spray to my beach blanket. The lingering scent as you relax on the sand is bliss — although that bliss is usually short-lived for me once my kids notice me sitting. They all seem to need something at that exact moment!
That’s when my Energy Roll-On from Nature’s Truth comes in very hand. It can be rolled onto the skin. I prefer to apply behind my ears and on the inside of my wrists.
A linen spray can be used in the bedrooms by spraying linens, pillows, quilts and blankets. This guest room at our house already looks relaxing. The linen spray adds another perfect element.
TIP: To scent a room, add a few drops of oils to cotton balls and hide in corners of a room, the bottom of the garbage pail, behind the toilet, or anywhere else that could use some freshening up.
I found Nature’s Truth at Target.com. I used the online, ship-to-store feature, my favorite! It makes it so easy to find what I’m looking for and then pick-up at customer service.
