Big Girl’s Room Makeover with Big Lots

It doesn’t always need to be pink and purple. I’m a big fan of black and white – and I think when it’s done right, it can be great for even a little girl’s room. Recently, while shopping at Big Lots, I was inspired by a hanging wall canvas. I love stopping into Big Lots from time to time to see what is new. They get new inventory in all the time, and it’s exciting to discover new furniture, accents and home decor items.  The canvas inspired me to do a makeover of my daughters’ room for our vacation home – and be able to stay away from pinks and purples.

Until now, their room had been somewhat boring and bare. Since it’s a new home, we want to rent it out eventually when we’re not there. Decorating it is going to be key and a strict budget is in place for that. For this, Big Lots has been the best go to for furniture to fill in the gaps. The black side table I purchased was just the right addition of furniture we needed in the space.

Shopping at Big Lots is always an adventure where I’m guaranteed to find on-trend items at an unbeatable value. After spotting that canvas, I found so many coordinating pieces that helped me complete the room in a single shopping trip. You can always be assured of Big Lot’s Pillar of Value – their promise that includes quality, brands, fashion and value.

On this trip, I found the sidetable, bookshelf and small vanity in the furniture department. I rounded out the look with two lamps, accessories, bedding, a throw pillow, and a candle.

I think the side table and canvas really elevate the space. Some people might say the colors are too dark for a little girl’s room, buty I think it’s classic and something they will be able to grow into. Plus, it’s a great way to “sell” the room for summer rentals  (since this is a vacation home) and not make it stand out as a child’s room.

The accessories and wood sign I chose look great on the new side table and a hand-painted gold mason jar is an easy DIY project for a quick vase.

When I saw this bedding set at Big Lots, I was thrilled. As I mentioned, the value, quality and on-trend styles never cease to amaze me.

I love the way the sleeping area came together. I added in a throw pillow in blue ruffles for some fun and color.

This room is a small space with a very small closet. We saved space with a trundle bed, but there isn’t room for an additional dresser.  The solution was simple with this cube-style bookshelf. It adds storage with the fabric bins without the bulk of a big dresser.

To keep it fun for my girls, I added a small vanity that I found at Big Lots. I love the design on the stool – so cute!

Overall, I’m thrilled to have been able to create another one-day room makeover with Big Lots. I love that I can walk into the store and walk out with a whole new room!

I’ve shared with you how shopping Big Lots for furniture helped me to re-do my room! Share with me what room in your home could use a Big Lots furniture makeover?

I love black and white for room decorations. Especially in bedroom spaces it’s so light and fresh. I love that you can then easily add pops of colors throughout the room and those are easily changed each time you want to spruce up the space!

People forget about big lots but they have some fab furniture and things. I went in there the other day to get a nightstand for my side of the bed I love that it’s not expensive and fits my budget

We have always enjoyed shopping at Big Lots. We have also purchased home furnishings and have been pleased with the quality as well as the service when we are in the store. It sounds like we have really similar tastes in furniture. We have lots of black in our house, its one of our favorite colors. You guys did a really good job putting it all together. Keep up the awesomeness!

I totally love the black and white with a splash of color. It is sophisticated, but easily given a feminine touch. How cool that you got it all at Big Lots!

Love the black and white! I think it is so classy and perfect for a little girls room! I think it is great since it will grow with her. I need to head to my local Big Lots to see all the cuteness! I did get some Halloween decor from there!

I am a huge fan of Big Lots, and don’t spend as much time as I should in the home décor section. I can’t believe the black side table came from there – it looks so nice. I also need to spend some time in the wall art section.

Although I am a pink and purple kind of girl, I agree that so many other colors can be used. I recently fell in love with lime green! I love Big Lots’ home decor section! I always find something fabulous and unique…but most importantly for a great price!
