With Mother’s Day this weekend, I’m really excited to share an easy DIY gift for that special mom in your life. These picture frames turned trays are perfect for displaying cosmetics, fine fragrances and just about anything you don’t want cluttering up counter space.

You can create them to go along with a gift you’re giving or just as is.

I picked up one of the Love2Love fragrances for my mom – Fresh Rose & Peach – and thought it would be really nice accompanied by a set of cosmetic trays for the bathroom counter.

I decided to make the trays from ordinary picture frames, pretty scrapbook paper and drawer/cabinet handles.

To create a DIY Picture Frame Tray, you’ll need:

Picture Frame

Scrapbook Paper that compliments frame

Cabinet Pulls – handles work best

Tool for removing hardware on back

Drill / Screwdriver

Start by removing the hardware from the back of your frames – the stand, any pieces that will prevent it from lying flat.  Next, measure your scrapbook paper (use the prexisting insert inside to get a great fit!) Add to frame, keeping glass over the paper.

For this project, I thought the handles were a nice touch – and chose some with a decorative “glass” feature. However, these were really inexpensive and I picked them up for under $5 at Walmart.

To avoid measuring (which I hate to do!), I use this trick:  Use painter or washi tape as a template to mark where you should drill holes for the handles. This makes it so easy without measuring!

You can really create any look nad have a lot of fun with this project!

It’s a great gift but also a fun DIY for your own home.

One Love2Love fragrance that is perfect for this project is the new Bluebell + White Tea Fragrance.

This fragrance is available in participating Walmart stores. If you’re looking for a great gift (or treat for yourself!), keep your eye out for this special end cap display that features this exciting new Love2Love Fragrance and the $.50 Love2Love gift bag!

Love2Love fragrances are fine fragrances that captures love & joy. When I sampled each, in store, I can best describe them as fun, simple, colorful and happy. They are truly an affordable indulgence that makes a great gift.

The fragrances are also located in the regular ‘fragrances’ section of your local Walmart. Here’s where I found mine:
