With the warm weather here – it’s time to take entertaining outside and one theme I love is a patriotic one. With Memorial Day and July 4th coming up, many of us fire up the grill and put on some great parties with that Red, White & Blue theme. When we entertain, we have all the classic barbecue food, so I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit with a fun Hot Dog Bar in a Red, White & Blue theme. And when you have hot dogs, you have mustard. This year, we’re stocked up on New Heinz® Yellow Mustard as a staple in our entertaining.
For this party, I kept it fun & festive with the decor!
Rag-Tie Banner
Pinwheels for the Kids
Mini-Bunting
Fun Straws & Painted Mason Jars
Easy DIY Stamped Burlap Runner
Simply have a piece of burlap cut to size and stencil on stars in Red, White & Blue. Easy!
And, of course, the hotdogs. I used these fun paper containers – perfect for allowing people to create a classic hotdog or a new favorite.
I had a menu full of some new ideas – an Italian Hot Dog, a BLT Hotdog, the Antipasto Hotdog and the NY Style. Of course, some people may like to just stick with the classic Heinz Yellow Mustard alone – which is equally as good!
One of my favorite from the list is the Antipasto Hot Dog.
To create: Start with a fresh, grilled hotdog – and add the following fresh toppings:
marinated artichoke hearts
fresh seasoned mozzerella
seasoned tomatoes
arugula
drizzle of olive oil
optional: peppers & onions
(See full recipe for preparing the ingredients below!)
It’s a fun, unexpected twist – especially when that mozzerella starts to melt on the warm, hot dog. Delish! All of my other hot dog creations used our favorite new mustard, Heinz Yellow Mustard – Try it today with America’s Favorite Ketchup®!
We also created a BLT Hot Dog, along with classics like the Italian Hot Dog (Peppers, Onions & Potatoes) and a NY Style with Heinz Yellow Mustard & Sauerkraut!
About Heinz Yellow Mustard
Heinz knows what they are doing. They have been making fodo taste great for almost 150 years! Now, they’re taking that expertise and bringint it to mustard! This better tasting mustard will delight. In fact, here’s three reasons to believe:
- Taste Reason to Believe #1: A secret blend of spices and vinegar for the perfect balance of flavor and tang.
- Taste Reason to Believe #2: Heinz, uncommon quality since 1869.
- Taste Reason to Believe #3: 100% natural ingredients, including stone-ground mustard seeds
One thing I loved about having this mustard at our party was there was no water mess with that first squirt. Don’t you hate it when that happens? Heinz has designed their new mustard top-down – no need to shake before using. In addition, Heinz Yellow mustard doesn’t sink into the bread and make it soggy. It’s thicker so it sits on top of the bread. For your next party, you can pick up the 8oz, 14 oz or 20oz bottle at Walmart – where I shopped for mine. You can find it located near the Heinz Ketchup.
This product launched in February at Walmart and is now being sold at other national retailers.

First of all, the setup looks amazing. The design is really put up together nicely. Not to mention, the hotdog looks really good. I want to have one!
Everything about this is so adorable! And I love your hot dog “recipes” too.
hot Dogs–the way I eat them-every time mind you and usually at Nathan’s is ketchup, mustard, relish, onions and sauerkraut!! Guess you could call it a modified New York Style–but then I’m a New Yorker!!
Oh I pinned your gorgeous picture of this on Pinterest earlier. This is so sweet and would be the perfect set up for July 4th 🙂
This is such a cute setup! I love the painted mason jars. They are really adorable!
I love the decorations! Just so totally adorable! I usually eat my hot dogs with mustard and onions. I am too scared to try anything different.
Those different patterns on the ribbons look great together. This is such a cool hotdog bar!
I have to say that Heinz Mustard is a staple food in my pantry! We use it for garnishing our burgers and hot dogs. But I also love using it whenever I cook, like homemade meatloaf (It’s one of my secret ingredients!). Thanks for sharing your super cool recipe and party layout! 🙂
I love the idea of a hot dog bar!! I had no idea that Heinz came out with a mustard, I will have to pick one up.
I’m actually not a fan of mustard but my kids won’t eat their hot dogs without it. I used to buy French’s Mustard but since I’ve seen the new Heinz mustard I’m going to have to get it so it can go hand in hand with their ketchup.
Totally love how you set it all up! I could never be that creative unless I paid someone and then took the credit 😉
I don’t love hotdogs but this made me hungry! The presentation looks amazing!
I love mustard with my hot dog or sometimes we marinate it with Chicken. Comes out very yummy!
This looks amazing! What a gorgeous setup — and hello YUM! 🙂
I love the setup – the color combinations are awesome. Plus, what’s a hotdog without mustard right haha! Yumm!!!
Absolutely loving the entire set-up so cute and so clean I love it, never made a hot dog bar before but this is pretty cool
One of my favorite parts of the summer time is having hot dogs in the yard with family. This is such a cute idea, I’m sure everyone would get such a kick out of it when I do it for memorial day weekend.
This is such a fun idea! I love all the decorations. This would be a great thing to do this summer.
So perfect for the summer and Fourth of July. I love hot dogs, even though they are not the healthiest. Loved the decorations and the antipasto dog, OMG. Looks delicious! Will have to try making one of these for my next cookout.
Very cute styling for the hot dog bar! I am totally making plans to eat some fancy hot dogs this summer now.
That antipasto hot dog I have so got to try. You had me at the Italian hot dog though. Oh darn, it’s so late and you’ve made me hungry! 🙁 Thanks for sharing. I’ll write this stuff down for tomorrow, but you’re right about the mustard I hate when water comes out first thing. YUK
