I used to be terrible at remembering birthdays until I started using a smartphone. I have everyone’s birthday programmed in and I get a reminder from my calendar. But, a reminder isn’t helpful if I still have to scramble to get a card and/or gift. That’s why I’ve always kept a stockpile of birthday cards.
I like to keep my cards organized in a basket using a homemade file system. Just choose a box or basket, fold & cut cardstock to size, along with a tab, label and fill!
To make my card stockpile possible, I always visit Walmart to stock up on Hallmark Cards starting at 47 Cents. It’s so convenient to pick up cards when I’m in doing my regular shopping and the value is amazing. Walmart is the ONLY place you can find these cards – so keep your eyes out for them on your next trip!
On a recent trip, I needed to stock up on some birthday cards – and I purchased a whole bunch. One card I needed was for a good friend who lives far away. I immediately chose this card – since we grew up together and loved sweets.
Using the card as my inspiration, I decided to pick up some other Hallmark items, like this pop-up box, decorative accent and tissue paper to make her a “Birthday In a Box” with some good things – as the card suggests.
Other items I purchased were some of our favorite 80’s movies, birthday crowns, candles, cake-like frosted cookies….
and, of course, lots of confetti.
As you can see, my Hallmark card inspired a bigger idea and together – card and gift – I know my friend will be really surprised and happy!
I need to stock up on some of these cards. At only 47 cents everyone is going to start receiving cards for everything – what a great value! And I love this birthday in a box idea – so fun and easily personalized! #client
