With spring right around the corner, I’m feeling inspired to freshen up the house. It’s nice to clear the clutter and bring in some color. There is no better place to start than in the kitchen. With the counters clean and free from clutter, I wanted to dress up the sink with Softsoap Liquid Foaming Hand Wash and a Cake Stand Organizer.
The cake stand idea is great because it keeps the soaps & sponge off the countertop. It also puts it at a great height to easily grab while working. Softsoap Liquid Foaming Hand Wash is the perfect choice to add some pretty to your sinks. Not only does it feel and smell great – the bottles are beautiful. These soaps are a premium product at a fantastic price.
You could choose to use an existing cake stand, but if you don’t find one that you like, you could easily make one with a candlestick and plate. I wanted to use a plate that matched our tile and countertops and paired it with a glass base so that it blended in more.
What you’ll need:
Permanent Adhesive (be sure it says okay for glass/porcelain)
Before you get started, be sure your base can support the size of the plate without tipping – especially with things stacked on top. Check that your plate will fit snugly on the candlestick before gluing. Flip the plate upside down and center the candlestick top onto the plate. Trace the outline with the pencil. Next, add glue to the plate to fill in what you outlined – apply candlestick and wipe away any excess glue. Allow to dry. When complete, you have a cake stand that you can use for so many things, but I looks great sink-side.
It’s an easy and inexpensive project. I picked up the candlestick base at a home discount store, and then headed to Walmart to pick up the Softsoap Liquid Foaming Handwash, towel, plate and a new dishsoap dispenser. I love the way the yellow adds a great pop of color to my kitchen.
I didn’t stop with the kitchen sink. I also picked up another plate for the vanity in our guest bathroom. Along with a new hand towel and the Jasmine & White Cotton Softsoap, you can create a great sink-side decor. Plus, it keeps your bathroom counter clean!
I also picked up the Whipped Cocoa Butter Softsoap for my kids. They love the way it smells and actually ask to wash their hands since it is a foaming hand soap.
These three soaps make the perfect addition to your sink and you can find them all at Walmart with the other hand soaps.
