While preparing to host Christmas this year, I started going through a lot of table linens and servewear, weeding out a lot of stuff that I just didn’t use anymore. I found I had amassed a collection of napkin rings – for some odd reason. Between our wedding registry, gifts and hand-me-downs, I decided to get rid of a few sets since I really don’t even use them much.
I had this gold set sitting off to the side – I was going to offer them to a family member.
My son started stacking some of them and I thought they looked cute stacked. I decided to craft them into a vase – pencil holder. I have a small writing desk in a nook of our living room and thought they would be cute for flowers or storing my pens/pencils.
It’s really simple and I think you could use any kind of napkin ring that fits flush when stacked. These actually had small beads around the edge, but they still stacked well enough and had enough surface to glue.
The project is super simple~ all you need is :
Napkin rings
Permanent Craft Glue
Decide how tall you want your vase or pencil holder by stacking and then start gluing. Be careful that glue is not dripping down the outside.
Allow to dry and you have a little bling for your pens or pencils, or a cute way to add some flowers to a guest room or entry way.
