Silver & Gold Holiday with Dollar Store Finds

Dec 09, 2014 Stephanie

Silver and Gold with Dollar Store Finds

This holiday, I’ve done a lot with silver & gold. It’s a great combination for decor, gift-wrap, and goes with just about anything. It’s simple, unisex and if you make something for the holidays, you will be able to tie it in with decor for years to come.

Here are some ways I’ve created some easy silver & gold pieces from dollar store finds! A trip to the dollar store, some silver and gold paint pens and the possibilities are endless!

DIY Silver and Gold

Mini Jars

These mini jars are perfect for gifts or displaying candy! Leave them silver, paint the lids gold – they’re adorable and functional.

Silver Gold Jars

Gift Wrap

On plain brown paper, I created gold polka dots or silver chevron. Fun, easy and simple. I used plain brown gift bags and simply cut to create gift wrap or used as a bag.

Gift Boxes & Tags

I added dots to these brown and black boxes to make them more frestive. Use plain brown gift tags and add your own personal silver and gold touches.

Mugs / Bowls

Create a fun look for the holidays with dollar store bowls/mugs to create gifts and servewear.

I love the lids craft! We don’t have dollar stores here in the UK and I am always jealous when I see what you guys can get! Love your creativity! I generally make things for the boys that are from Santa or the Elves during the holidays!

This is one of the few years that I don’t have a Holiday project. I am not doing Christmas Eve or Day. I am going to go to my family and they are doing it. So much easier. But, I do like looking at all he ideas everyone else has.

Oh how cute and creative. I’ve never thought about decorating anything with markers but I have quite a few things that I could use them for. I love those bowls. Thanks for sharing.

I love this color scheme. I haven’t even bought any Christmas gift wrap. I think I’m going to look for some gold and silver gift wrap. Ahh this is such a creative idea. I love it ♥ ♥

That is a brilliant idea, thank you so much for sharing! I love that simplistic design of silver and gold polkadots over black, white or dark brown surfaces. If I have time I’ll give it a try.

Wow, just a little sharpie made these simple dollar store items look way more expensive. Great ideas… I could see using these for multiple festive reasons.

I am totally impressed with what you did with that silver and gold Sharpies. I had no idea that these existed…I need to add these to my crafting arsenal. I have all the materials to make my own wreath, and have been dragging my feet in getting it done.
