Preparing for House Guests | 5 Tips

Dec 01, 2014 Stephanie

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Charmin. I received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for my participation. #TweetFromtheSeat #MC

Preparing for Holiday House-Guests

Are you ready for house guests this holiday season? When I get ready to host, I like to take the time to provide house-guests with the comforts of home. The same goes for holiday parties where guests will be in your home.

Below are 5 of my favorite tips to make sure your guests feel at home:

1. Plenty of Beverages

Have a variety of beverages on hand – from lemon-water, to water bottles for your guests’ rooms and spirits and wine – your guests will feel at home with plenty on-hand to drink. Know your guests preferences, too. If they like tea vs. coffee, etc.

2. Prepare a Guest Room

Guest Room

Fresh flowers, linens, towels and pillows are all appreciated by guests.

3. Ready the Bathroom

Make sure your bathroom is as inviting and welcoming. Have scented candles or oils and plenty of hand towels. Most importantly, have the right toilet paper on hand. It is really welcoming to a guest when you have a bath tissue like Charmin.  Not only is Charmin soft, plush and clean, it is recommended by ROTO-ROOTER, America’s largest provider of plumbing and drain services, to be clog-free and septic safe. And during the busy holidays, when your guest bathroom may be getting a lot of use, a clog is the last thing you want! Have a supply waiting for guests – they’ll appreciate the softness and quality – and you’ll appreciate a clog-free holiday!

4. Provide Essentials

Fill a jar with travel-size essentials that guests, overnight or party, might have forgotten. Guests really appreciate the small touches like this.  Some ideas: Lotions, hairspray, deodorant, tissues, mouthwash, etc.

5. Snacks

Aside from holiday entertaining, I like to create a bag with a holiday trail mix or other small snack to leave in the guest room. Sometimes guests may want to munch on something in teh evening or in the morning and may not want to disturb anyone. I think, above all, it shows you appreciate your guests and have thought of everything!

And when the holiday guests leave, and your house is back to ‘normal,’ these same touches are still nice to have around. The fresh flowers and clean linens are something I try to do often for my family, and we always stock up on Charmin Ultra Soft and Ultra Strong. With three young children, this bath tissue is a must. You just use less Charmin – the quality is unlike any other bath tissue; very cloth-like. That means less bath tissue used, less times that no one replaces the roll and less times that we’re running out of bath tissue!

Great ideas that would be totally appreciated by guests! Being thoughtful like that makes for such a welcoming stay.
