There used to be a time that I went for weekly pedicures – really respected my feet! Now with three little ones at home, I’m not a ‘regular’ at the nail salon. Added to that, I’m always on my feet, which means they always get a lot of ‘wear and tear.’ So, I have had to find easy ways to give my feet some TLC at home! My solution to relieve stressed, sore and rough feet has always been foot soaks. They really work at soothing and softening skin, so it’s perfect as part of an at-home pedicure. Recently, I added the new Amopé Pedi Perfect products to my foot care routine and, honestly, I’m not so bummed I can’t make it to the salon.
I’m going to show you one of my favorite foot soaks and how, along with the Amopé Pedi Perfect Electronic Foot File & Lotion, you’ll have smooth, recharged and beautiful feet in minutes! Yes…minutes!

DIY Lavendar and Citrus Foot Soak

First things first – prepare your Lavender and Citrus Foot Soak. I like to make a big batch so that it is ready to go at any time. Use a jar with a lid to keep things fresh. These jars also make great gifts for the holidays. Add a pretty tag and bow and you have a great gift!
Lavender Citrus Foot Soak
2 cups Epsom Salt –
1 cup dried lavender
1 cup dried orange slices
1 -2 drops of lavender essential oil – optional
1-2 drops orange essential oil – optional
The citrus is excellent for relieving irritated, dry skin and also has great aromatherapy. Lavender has so many benefits, but I have added to this soak for the stress and ache relief properties it brings!
To make the dried orange slices, place thin cut slices on a wire rack or non-stick cooking mat. Bake at 175-200 for 2-3 hours – turning regularly. If no kiddos are around, leave the door 2-3 inches open so that the moisture can be released. Watch closely to adjust heat if needed so they do not burn. If they are still a little soft when done, just dry on a rack outside the oven. The moisture fades pretty quickly. Plus, for this foot soak, I don’t mind the orange slices having some moisture left.
Scoop 1 cup of the mixture into your bowl and add warm water. I like mine on the warmer side, but its up to you. Never go too hot.
Soak feet for at least 20 minutes – and then use a foot brush to gently scrub and massage feet and nails.
Remove feet and pat dry. Allow feet to fully dry before continuing.
Here is where the magic happens – the Amopé Pedi Perfect will soften your feet in minutes.
Amopé means “love your feet” in Portugese and after using this electronic foot file, you will love your feet. It’s gentle, safe and really effective at getting rid of tough skin. Combined with the Pedi Perfect daily moisturizer, I love how smooth my feet and heels are afterwards.
I found the Amopé Pedi Perfect at my local Target in the foot care aisle – and there’s some great deals (see below) to make this purchase even better!
The electric foot file works so much more effectively than a traditional pumice stone. The gadget uses microgranulates on a fast-moving roller, with a built in safety feature that stops it when too much pressure is applied. You never have to worry about going to hard on your feet. Follow up with the lotion and you have smooth, happy feet!
Afterwards- trim file and polish the way you normally would. Voila – flip flop worthy feet in November. This works well for me since I wear my flip flops as long as possible into the fall! It is usually my husband who demands I stop wearing them in the cold! It’s hard parting from summer!
Give this foot soak and the Amopé Pedi Perfect electric file and lotion a try – Enjoy!

The electric file thing sounds great – my heels always get so cracked and dry!
Ooooo I’m fascinated by how you made your dried oranges for the foot soak. I am definitely going to have to try this out – your whole routine, in fact! #client
