Who doesn’t love a good Italian-inspired sandwich? If you are like me and love sandwiches with pepperoni and salami, you’ll love the Oscar Mayer brand of Old World Style pepperoni and salami.
Varieties include:
Classic Salami, Cracked Black Pepper Salami, Classic Pepperoni and Turkey Pepperoni.
Not only are these a great addition to your sanwich, but they also are a great addition to your protein intake – with up to 8 grams per serving! You can find the meats in the refrigerated meat section at retail stores nationwide and retail for $3.29.
I loved all the varieties, but the Turkey Pepperoni was most interesting to me. I decided to create a new sandwich with it and a fun lunch idea for my picky 5 year old! See Recipe below for this amazing sandwich made with Turkey Pepperoni, Fresh Mozzerella, Arugula and Fresh Italian Bread.
This is an absolutely delicious sandwich that is delicious and full of flavor – not to mention, super easy to make!
Ingredients:
Italian Bread
Oscar Mayer Turkey Pepperoni (You can also use regular Oscar Mayer Pepperoni)
Arugula (Rinsed & Drained)
Tomato – Sliced
Fresh Mozzerella – Sliced
Salt/Pepper/Italian Seasonings
Instructions:
Start by seasoning sliced tomato and mozzerella with salt, pepper and italian seasonings.
Take olive oil, add a pinch of salt, pepper and italian seasonings – mix and set aside.
Layer one side of bread with tomato and mozzerella. Layer the other with the 2-3 slices turkey pepperoni and another slice of mozzerella.
Place in toaster oven, open face, or regular oven at 300 degrees until bread is browned/toasted and cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from oven and add Arugula to one side.
Drizzle with Olive Oil mixture.
Assemble, slice and serve!
Lunch Box Idea
Kid not into sandwiches? My five year old isn’t big into sandwiches, so using these Turkey Pepperoni slices in a roll up is a great lunch idea!
Simply take a slice, roll with cheese and arugula and you’ve got a flavorful lunch or topping for a salad.
