There’s no doubt that Palmolive is a gentle and effective dishsoap – it’s tough on grease but soft on hands! It is that same gently quality that makes for so many other uses beyond my kitchen sink. Most of these tips, either cleaning, beauty or household tips are easy, simple and will save you a lot of money. One bottle = so many uses.
One of my favorite things about Palmolive is all the variety. I like to stock up at Walmart, where I can pick up my favorite bottles of Palmolive at great prices. On this most recent trip, I picked up a bottle of Palmolive Baby, Palmolive Oxy (Cuts through grease!) and a bottle in my favorite scent, Lotus Blossom.
No matter which bottle of Palmolive you choose, the ways you can use one bottle is endless!
Here are my 5 favorite ways to use Palmolive:
Free a Stuck Zipper
You know the feeling. You have to leave 5 minutes ago and your 2 year old has to have her jacket zipped NOW…. because, yesterday, she didn’t want it zipped at all. Sigh. Of course, the zipper is stuck. Palmolive can help! First identify the spot it is getting stuck on. Squeeze a very small dab of Palmolive onto your finger and rub onto the area that is getting suck. Slowly move the zipper up and down and it will become unstuck!
This works great on stuck backpacks, too!
Cleaning Toys
Palmolive works great at gently cleaning toys. You don’t have to use the baby solution, any Palmolive bottle will do. Add a small amount Palmolive to a large bowl, add warm water until sudsy. Let toys soak, then rinse and dry.
Stains on Clothing
This works especially well with grease stains. Find the spot, add a few drops of Palmolive to directly to the stain. Rub the Palmolive into the stain and let sit for at least one hour (longer for particularly bad stains). Wash and dry. This has done the trick countless times for me!
DIY Household Cleaners
I love making my own cleaners with Palmolive. Not only are these bottles pretty enough to be left on a counter, they are super effective at what they do. To make the bottles, I use pretty scrap book paper and adhere to simple spray bottles. I color coded mine so that I could grab them quickly. These are also a great idea for a houswarming gift.
The first cleaner I make is for my granite, countertops. It is hard to find a product that I can use everyday on my granite. I use a weekly granite cleaner but it requires a lot of buffing and isn’t convenient for wiping down the counters in between meals or in the evening. This cleaner, made with Palmolive is simple, effective and if you use your favorite scent, your kitchen will smell great! To make, simply pour 4-5 small drops of Palmolive into an empty, clean spray bottle, add water, shake and you’re ready to clean. This keeps my Granite countertops clean and spot-free in between the bigger cleanings.
You can also make a simple window cleaner, same method, although I add a little less Palmolive for the window solution (2-3 small drops). It cleans those greasy, grimy fingerprints that appear daily on my windows and doors. Best of all, it dries with NO STREAKS.
Manicure Prep
If you’re like me and you rarely have time to hit the nail salon, then you want your at-home manicures to last a long time. After shaping and buffing nails, soak in a mixture of a few drops of your favorite Palmolive and warm water. This cleans the oils and dirt off your nails allowing the nail polish to stick better. This means less chipping and longer-lasting manicures!

I’m in awe about the zipper trick! I’ve had more than my fair share of stuck zippers and never knew that Palmolive would help to loosen the zipper. THANK YOU! #client
