I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Discover Boating. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I’m thrilled to be an Ambassador for Discover Boating to help share some informative information and resources about boating this summer!

As a child, I was always on the water boating. My grandfather had a boat and loved surf-fishing. The time spent on the water here at the NJ shore has been among my most favorite memories as a child. According to Discover Boating/Kelton Research 2012, 91% of Americans believe that there are benefits for children to be on the water – including getting outdoors, appreciating nature, spending quality time with family and disconnecting from technology. I can’t agree with this more – and I also think that boating and teaching children the skills associated with boating can help build self-esteem and confidence in children and foster a life-long love of being on the water. It’s the type of memories that I want to give our children.
My husband’s family has a house at a lake and with my childhood memories of being on the water, boating is important to us.
My husband’s family does have a boat, but we’re considering something a bit bigger to accommodate the now large family. Discover Boating offers a great boat selector tool to help us make the best decision on which boat we should consider.
While visiting DiscoverBoating.com, be sure to chek out their Stories of Discovery videos, which are documentary style videos about how people’s lives have been positively impacted by boating. The short film, Good Run, will also leave you needing a few tissues. The film shows the impact of boating on a man’s life – such a sweet film.
This past weekend, our little ones fished from the shore , but we know with the right boat, our fishing adventures will be even more exciting on the water!
Over the next month, we’ll be looking at some boats and I’m hoping to be able to share our final plans in my next post.
