Getting It All Done with 5-hour ENERGY®

Being a mom is, by far, the hardest job I’ve ever had. I never knew how busy I’d be or how TIRED I’d feel all the time. Aside from chasing 2-year old twin girls and their energetic 4-year old brother, I run a blog and maintain a busy family calendar. From energy shots  to making lists, read on as I share my tips for getting it all done.

Tip 1: Get the Energy You Need with 5-hour ENERGY® Shots

This is a biggie. If you have no energy, it doesn’t matter what else you do, you simply can’t keep up. For me, mid-day fatigue always seems to set in just as my kids begin to amp up, which is never a good combination. 5-hour ENERGY® Shots are my secret weapon against the afternoon slump, so I can keep up.

#shop #cbias 5-hour ENERGY® Shots are dietary supplements that contain a blend of B-vitamins, amino acids and essential nutrients. There is zero sugar, carbs or herbal stimulants.  I always stock up on 5-hour ENERGY® when I visit CVS. You can find it in the vitamins aisle near the energy & protein bars. My favorite flavor is Orange – but any of them are great when you need your energy fast.

It wasn’t long ago that coffee was choice for energy. I’d have two cups in the morning and another in the afternoon, just to give me the boost I needed to make it through the day. The problem with that? Too many calories associated with my coffee, milk and sugar habit. I was having drinking two additional cups in the afternoon, in addition to my morning cup. This simply wasn’t working diet-wise.  5-hour ENERGY® shots are only four calories and they contain caffeine comparable to a c of the leading premium coffee – for me, it’s the better choice.

Stash these away in your purse or clutch for a boost of energy wherever you are – at home or on the go. You’ll never be without the energy you need to get it all done.

Tip 2: Stay Organized & Make a List  I’m a crazy list person. I make a new list every day and get a thrill from crossing things off it. Find a system that works for you, but keep track of all those things that we moms have swirling around in our heads. I find myself a lot more clear-headed and calm when I get it all down on paper and can prioritize what needs to be done.

Tip 3: Always Prepare for the Day Ahead Use the quiet of the night to prepare for the day ahead. Lay out clothes, pack lunches and organize bags with everything you need for the next day. I stage a pick-up zone in the morning so everyone knows where to find what they need to leave the house on time.

Tip 4: Don’t Go It Alone No matter how amazing you are, you can’t do it all. One thing I like to do is trade time with a friend or my sister-in-law. We swap days to watch each other’s kids – each taking a turn. I drop off my kids at her house when it is my turn and the 3-4 hours to myself are pure bliss. You will feel like super-mom with you will accomplish.

Tip 5: Wake Up Earlier I know, this seems counter-intuitive, but this actually helps! I love sleep and that snooze button is oh-so- appealing, but you’ll see that the AM energy is so much better than trying to stay up too late. I accomplish so much more in the morning than I ever did staying up late. Have a hard time waking up? Try these tips:

I try to wake up an hour before my kids.  I can fit in 30 minutes of exercise, write a post, check emails and feel accomplished before my kids even wake up. For me, I find I’m less stressed on days where I have had this time to myself to start the day.

We are all super-moms in one way or another. What secrets do you have for getting it all done? Share!

LOL – I’ve lived long enough that I can pretty much do whatever I want…No rushing around to get dinner done, laundry finished, or helping with homework. I can stay up late and sleep in. My husband, on the other hand, has a crazy hectic schedule and he’s been a long time 5 Hour Energy user.
