Being prepared for springtime allergy season means having the right info and products. My husband, son and I all have seasonal allergies. To manage allergies effectively, we start taking my medications before symptoms get out of control. That means stocking up on allergy essentials from Duane Reade and knowing when the pollen counts will be high.
I can find everything I need to get me through allergy season at Duane Reade. But this season, I’ve got a new tool helping me out – Poncho. Poncho is a weather service application that delivers a daily personalized updates right to my email. You can also choose to receive text or email notifications – and tailor the information you receive. Currently, Poncho is only available in New York City.
What’s great is that Poncho and Duane Reade have teamed up together this allergy season. On high pollen count days, Poncho sends a digital coupon for allergy medication at Duane Reade. So, Poncho tells me ‘the when’ and Duane Reade has the ‘the what.’
Stop In to Duane Reade & Stock Up On Your Allergy Essentials
On a recent shopping trip to Duane Reade, I decided to stock up on our go-to seasonal allergy medications and some other necessities. My Poncho notifications indicated high pollen counts in the upcoming days. Now is the time for me to start taking my medication so my symptoms don’t takeover.
Allergy Medications
Duane Reade has all the brands I’m looking for. If my allergist recommends I try something new, I know I can count on Duane Reade to have it in stock. On this shopping trip, I was specifically looking for Claritan so that I could use my the coupon I had received via Poncho!
Relief for Children
If your children have allergies, Duane Reade has you covered there, too. My doctor has my son on a few different medications (the poor little guy gets so uncomfortable!) and I like that Duane Reade has some of the medications in the Walgreens brand – saving me money without compromising effectiveness or quality.
Consider Comfort
Allergy season can be tough. Sometimes there’s days where you just feel yucky, no matter what you do.
Make sure you don’t forget a few comfort items. Soothe a scratchy, itchy throat with a cup of hot tea and honey. Cough drops aren’t just for colds/flu. Many of them can help ease the discomfort associated with allergies – such as scratchy throats, coughing and help to clear the sinuses a bit. Some other must-haves? Natural Saline nasal spray, tissues with lotion and nose wipes for kids. These children’s nasal wipes make cleaning stuffy noses easy – without crying or fussing.
Register for Poncho and make sure you get in to Duane Reade to stock up on your spring allergy essentials. Duane Reade can help you get out there to enjoy everything spring has to offer…symptom-free, of course.

That app is adorable. THanks for sharing!
It’s a tough time of year – my husband has horrible allergies and I make sure I have what he needs in one place so he can find it easily.
I love that you could get everything you need in one stop. That app looks really cool. I am downloading it!
It seems like allergies are worse every year than the one before. I’ll have to look to see if Poncho is available for Windows Phones. 🙂
