It’s tax season. And every year, I hold my breath until our accountant finishes crunching the numbers – hoping for a refund. Fortunately, we’ve been lucky to get one the past few years. The question then becomes how to best spend that unexpected money. This year, our goal is improvement. We chose one small home project, an extra activity for the kids and finally, something to improve our budget, which will involve looking into cheap wireless plans.
At almost $200 a month, we decided we needed to lower our current mobile phone bill. We looked into Walmart’s Family Mobile plan. With our tax refund, we decided to sign up and give it a try for a few months before leaving our other carrier.
I’m really hopeful because with Walmart Family Mobile, we can score unlimited talk, text and data/web, for $39.88 a month. Want only talk/text ? That’s $29.88. Add to that perks like no contracts and phones for under $100 – and you have yourself an amazingly good deal. Treating ourselves and helping the monthly budget at the same time – total win-win.
Getting set up on the plan was hassle free. I was able to learn more about the Walmart Family Mobile Plan while in-store. An associate pointed me in the right direction and made sure I had everything I needed to get started.
I was able to purchase a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit for only $98.88 and the one-time starter kit (containing the SIM card) for $25. The phone comes with everything you need and the instructions for activitation couldn’t be easier.
Because the plan and phone were so inexpensive, I had a little bit of room in the budget to pick up some extras – like a great case for the phone, wireless speakers for music and calls, headphones and an add-on pack for downloads/games.
I opted to set up my phone online at home. It was super-easy and took barely 10 minutes from start to finish! I had the option of keeping my current number, or getting a new one. With all of the savings, you’ll never want to be without this wireless plan, but it’s still nice to know there is no contract.
I love that I can use the phone with my contoured earbuds to listen to music while running.
And, as you can see, someone else loves the add-on pack I purchased so he could buy his favorite apps and games!
Bottom line – this phone has the perfect features and wireless plan which fit right into my busy, on-the-go lifestyle. I have a feeling we won’t mind that extra money in the budget each month either.
