Whether you are having a big bash or just a few friends over for the Big Game, one thing remains essential — good food. This year, we’re going low-key. Having spent much of the past football season at the stadium tailgating and cheering on our favorite NY team, I’m looking forward to a quiet night with just a few friends.
Wanting to keep it simple and and easy to plan, I’m heading to Duane Reade to shop for fresh foods to help me prepare my gameday snacks.
At Duane Reade, you can find the DeLish fresh foods. Things like sandwiches, paninis, soups, salads, pastas, dips and more are delivered daily. Not only will you be serving delicious foods with simple ingredients, you’re also making things SO much easier on yourself.
The possibilities are endless with how you can serve up these foods. From a meal on the run for yourself, to serving guests in your home. You’ll appeal to all tastes. I decided to use my favorites to create bite-sized, easy-to-eat snacks for our game-day party:
Easy & Fresh Game Day Snacks
Two Bite Mac n’ Cheese Cups
The DeLish Mac & Cheese with Truffle Oil is literally one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Making it into two-bite cups turns this already outstanding dish into the perfect party food.
To Prepare: Spray muffin cups with non-stick spray. Portion out prepared mac n cheese into muffin cups (I find the mini muffin size works best). The trick is to pack it in there well – they will not hold their shape well after baking if you don’t pack it tightly. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes and then run a toothpick around the edge. Garnish with parsley or scallion. Another variation might be to use crackers as a crust.
Individual Taco Dip Cups
A game day favorite made portable and no worrying about double-dipping
Since this dip was already perfectly made, all I had to do was divide it into cups and pour the chips. Tip: Use the scoop shaped tortilla chips – make dipping mess-free!
Sandwiches are another must-have at any game day celebration. I decided to use the DeLish fresh sandwiches to create my own quick and easy sandwich platter. Pictured below are a tuna wrap, turkey/gouda wrap and a classic Italian sandwich.
Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries
My husband loves the DeLish fresh cheesecakes, so it was his one request. But, a slice of cheesecake didn’t really seem to fit into the whole game day spread. These stuffed strawberries are the perfect one-bite dessert!
Simply hollow out your strawberries and scoop a teaspoonfuls of cheesecake into each strawberry. I like to add a little of the crust to the top as a garnish.
