Produce for Kids is launching its annual Get Healthy, Give Hope campaign. They are working with major supermarket retailers throughout the country, including Stop & Shop, to raise money for Our Family Foundation. The campaign will run from June 7th, to August 8th and will help fight hunger and raise money for children in need.
How can you help?
During the above dates, the more produce Stop & Shop shoppers add to their shopping lists the more they can help. All participating fresh fruit and vegetable suppliers at Stop & Shop stores will make a consumption-based donation to Our Family Foundation. In 2012, Our Family Foundation awarded donations totaling $11.6 million to organizations in local communities with a mission to fight hunger, build healthier communities and overall, improve the lives of children.
You can learn more by visiting the Produce for Kids in-store display. The display will have information, easy-to-prepare recipes and additional helpful materials. There are also over 90 easy Ideal Meals® recipes online. I’m sharing one of my favorite recipes below! It combines thing my 4 year old son loves and some things he resists eating….put together, he adores this awesome power smoothie and he has no idea how good it is for him. It’s perfect for a mid-morning snack and I find when he has it, he doesn’t ask me for snacks all morning long. It keeps him cool, energized and feeling full!
