It’s been about one month since I had my twin girls. It has been one big learning experience all around. Many of the products we chose to use made life so much easier. Below are some of my favorite product picks – both infant and mamma stuff:
C-Section Recovery Kit/Abdomend
You must, must, must get the C-Section Recovery Kit/Abdomend if you are having a c-section or have had one. It was a lifesaver. My first c-section 3 years ago resulted in a disastrous recovery. I could barely take care of one baby while my incision healed. This time around, I knew I would need to be back to myself quickly with a toddler AND twins. This binding recovery band gave such great support to the area and helped me heal so much more quickly. It alleviated pain while recovering and made it so I could move around comfortably.
HALO SleepSack Swaddle
With double the baby to swaddle, the HALO SleepSack Swaddle makes swaddling easy and safe. To swaddle two squirmy infants with blankets was time consuming – especially in wanting to make sure it was done safely. Plus, my little ‘houdinis’ were getting out of every tight swaddle I made.
Coddlelife Bottles
I wanted to nurse exclusively, as I did for my son, but a lack of weight gain for the twins meant the need to supplement early on. I was concerned, knowing that the use of a bottle could cause confusion between breast and bottle. All of those concerns went right out the window after I started using the Coddlelife Bottles. My twins started them at 3 weeks old and have had no confusion. The unique nipple design and unique air venting system have been great – and they are SUPER easy to clean.
San Diego Bebe Twin Nursing Pillow
Quite simply – the only way to nurse twins at the same time. It does not take as much talent as one might think with this double nursing pillow. They do also make a great single nursing pillow, too!
Simplisse/Dr Brown’s Double Electric Pump & Simplisse Manual Pump
I loved this electric pump so much that I also got the manual companion pump. The Simplisse/Dr Brown’s design is meant to mimic baby and it really lives up to that claim. I hadn’t had much luck pumping with my first child, so I didn’t have high hopes. However, I have been really amazed by this electric pump and how much milk I’m able to yield in a short amount of time. The manual pump also works great.
Glamourmom Nursing Tank
I love the built in inner bra with seperate clasp on this nursing tank. It allows you to fit it to your needs. I have the ‘long’ version as I like to wear it layered underneath any top.
On the flip side, I’m not loving our double stroller. I did not make a good purchase there and I am already looking for a new one! It’s bulky, doesn’t fold up easily and wasn’t what I had in mind. I’m all about ease, convenience and space saving.
Any suggestions for a good double stroller? Is it best to go side-by-side or front/back?
I was not compensated for this post and all thoughts & opinions are 100% my own.
I am loving our Britax B-ready double stroller! It is costly but definitely worth the expense if you can afford it. It is easy to fold, and not really that heavy not as heavy as I expected.
Wow, those sound like great Mom aids for any Mom. The swaddling sack and the nursing bottles and the recovery kit, etc. Thanks for the info, Stephanie:)
I like my Baby Trend sit and stand. There are 2 different kinds though! I had to make sure I got the one that they can both sit facing forward. You can use it with the Baby Trend car seats. I think side-by-side might not fit through some doors.
And that nursing pillow looks neat. kind of expensive, though…
